Scars of Humanity
Cries break the silence of night,
Which falls on deaf ears;
All who denies what they here.
Trying to bring darkness to light,
Bringing shadows to the brink of sunrise.
The ripped flesh brings fear to those that see,
I'm still wondering how come they made an example out of me.
Through all atrocities against humanity,
They still won't make they wrongs right.
They hide behind the veil of secrecy,
My own brother in fear telling me to let it be.
How can I let it be my back looking like,
Shreaded cow hide.
Just because a piece of bread I tried to hide.
I hold the whole world on my shoulders,
My culture don't understand the scars on my back.
They say it was over a hundred years ago,
I should just let it go.
But every other culture that has been striped,
Of what they use to hold.
Has been paid reparations when it come to me,
They keep telling me to hold on.
How much longer can I hold on?
Master still has his foot on my neck,
And the whip in his hand.
Now they poison the black community,
And blame it on the black man.
Won't even let me claim my true culture,
They expect me to recongize a name;
Giving to me by voltures.
Please if you hear my cries,
Don't close your eyes and cover your ears.
Stand up! Speak out!
Make them pay for the scars of humanity.
Which falls on deaf ears;
All who denies what they here.
Trying to bring darkness to light,
Bringing shadows to the brink of sunrise.
